Recently I’ve been extremely intrigued by the existence of several older films of the silent era, especially “lost films”, which for one reason or another, no longer exist. While searching for info on a tv show that featured a fake Lost Film by the name of “La Fin Absolu Du Monde”, I discovered through IMDB that there have been several films by the name of “La Fin Du Monde”. The first on record is a french film from 1910. I can’t find any info on this one. There is another french film of the same name made in 1930 by Abel Gance. It was 105 minutes long. I’ve read that it would’ve been far longer, but the studio pulled it away from the director because he was spending too much time and money on it in their eyes. I have not found this film to watch, but I have found through even more mysterious circumstances an 18 minute documentary on the making of the film. And I cannot explain properly how in love with it I am. Please watch all 18 minutes of this. The music makes it even more incredible.
